About Access Supportive Actions

Driven by compassion. Guided by community. Committed to change.

Our Story

Access Supportive Actions was founded by Ruby Barrow with a clear vision: to bridge the gap between individuals in need and the social services that can transform their lives. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, we recognized that too many people in our community were falling through the cracks — not because help did not exist, but because accessing it was too difficult.

What began as a grassroots effort to connect neighbors with local resources has grown into a comprehensive social services organization serving individuals and families across the Greater Cleveland area. We take a hands-on approach, working directly with each person we serve to understand their unique circumstances and develop a tailored plan for progress.

Today, Access Supportive Actions continues to expand its reach, partnering with community organizations, local agencies, and dedicated volunteers to ensure that every person who comes to us finds a path forward.

Our Mission & Values

Compassion First

Every interaction begins with empathy. We listen without judgment and meet each person with dignity, respect, and genuine care for their well-being.

Community Driven

We believe lasting change happens at the community level. Our programs are shaped by the voices and needs of the neighborhoods we serve in Cleveland.

Empowerment

We do not just provide services — we equip individuals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to advocate for themselves and build self-sufficiency.

Accessibility

Our name says it all. We are committed to removing barriers to social services — whether financial, geographic, or systemic — so everyone can get the help they need.
